MommaMae's word for the day (inspired by Daily Teachings by Rhonda Byrne):

No matter what occurs in your life, there is never just one way.  In every circumstance and moment of your life, there are two paths available to you.  The two paths are: the positive and the negative.  YOU are the one who chooses the path you will take.

MommaMae's word for the day...

What you think about, you bring about because thoughts become things.  Your thoughts affect your feelings and your feelings affect your actions.  If you want to change your life, change your mind.

Today's affirmation

I choose to be happy.

MommaMae's word for the day...

You are no more and no less than you believe yourself to be.  The world takes you at your own estimate of your self worth. Don't put yourself in the bargain basement.

I created a Facebook group for the blog

It would sure be great to have you all join us there :)

Momma's word for the day:

It takes a special kind of person to treat people wrong and then wonder why things aren't going right for them.  As my daddy used to say, "What you put out of your house will be what comes back to it. You reap what you sow."  If you plant acorns, it'd be pretty foolish to think you're going to get an apple tree.  If it seems like things are always going wrong in your life, it's time to do soul searching with the person in your mirror.

MommaMae's word for the day...

Don't judge a book by its cover.  No matter how it good it may look, even the most beautifully decorated box of cow manure is still just a pile of crap. ~MommaMae~

MommaMae's word for the day...

If you're not happy with what you have, you sure won't be happy with what you want.  An attitude of gratitude multiplies your blessings.

MommaMae's word for the day:

Your race isn't who you are. Your skin is just a covering.  While you should be proud of your heritage, it is the soul of your character that should be what defines you, NOT the color of your skin. ~MommaMae~

UBUNTU...I am because we are...

An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that who ever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that as one could have had all the fruits for himself they said: ''UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?''
'UBUNTU' in the Xhosa culture means: "I am because we are"

MommaMae's word for the day (inspired by Howard Britt's status):

Every butterfly was once a caterpillar. Every chicken was once an egg. Every adult was once a child. Every child was once a seed. Every seed was once a moment.  You have NO IDEA which moment will be the moment that defines your future. So, you should never frown upon THIS moment in your life. Whether it is a dry season, a lonely season, a rough season, or a season of pain. Be the best you in as many moments as you can and everything will fall into place.

I'm actually doing ok in managing my money, but I want to do better as I am sure many of you do as well...

With the start of the new year, we all make plans and resolutions as to what we want to accomplish for the year. I found a great free e-book called, "It's Not About the Money." Just a little contribution to help with those resolutions. Let's make 'em happen!
